Ukrainian Handmade Long Floral Gerdan-Style Beaded Necklace
A distinctive, handcrafted statement piece made bead by bead by Anastasia, a Ukrainian artisan.
This long floral beaded necklace features a dramatic black base woven with colorful roses and green vines. Purple, soft pink, golden yellow, and red floral motifs run vertically along the necklace, leading to a large red rose centerpiece and a long beaded fringe in green, red, and black.
The elongated shape gives the piece exceptional visual presence. Rather than sitting close to the neck like a collar, it falls vertically down the chest, making the floral pattern part of the overall silhouette. The result is romantic, artistic, and unmistakably handmade.
Each section is individually handwoven, creating subtle variations that make every necklace unique. The large central rose, repeated floral motifs, long woven bands, and hand-strung fringe give this piece the character of wearable art rather than mass-produced jewelry.
The necklace pairs especially well with cream, black, forest green, burgundy, charcoal, and other solid colors that allow the floral beadwork to stand out. Wear it for special occasions, cultural events, artistic gatherings, dinners, celebrations, or whenever you want a statement piece with strong visual identity.

A Purchase With Meaning
Anastasia, a single mother from Ukraine’s Donbas region, made this necklace by hand.
After Russia’s invasion forced Anastasia and her son to leave their home, they relocated across the country in search of safety. Their home and community were devastated by the war, leaving them to rebuild their lives far from where they had lived.
Through that upheaval, Anastasia continued creating jewelry by hand.
This piece demonstrates the patience and precision her craft requires. Individual beads form each rose petal, leaf, vine, border, and fringe section. The large red rose alone contains numerous carefully placed beads, while the long floral bands require consistent weaving across the entire length of the necklace.
For Anastasia, jewelry making is more than a creative pursuit. Selling her handmade work provides income that helps support her and her son as they continue rebuilding their lives in Ukraine.
No factory produces these pieces. Each necklace is made individually, by hand.
When you purchase one of Anastasia’s pieces, you receive an original work of wearable art while directly supporting an independent Ukrainian artisan and mother.
